Insights into Developing Clinical Practice Guidelines
The George Institute for Global Health, India is organising a lecture on "Developing Clinical Practice Guidelines", which will be held on March 31st, 2022. The lecture is being delivered by Distinguished Professor Gordon Guyatt, from the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, McMaster University. Following the lecture there will be a Q and A session, moderated by Professor Vivekanand Jha, Executive Director, George Institute for Global Health, India.
About the Lecture
The aim of a clinical practice guideline is to create best practices and optimize patient care. Clinical practice guideline development involves systematic synthesis of evidence and translation of the highest quality of evidence into practice recommendations by a multidisciplinary panel. In this webinar, Distinguished Professor Guyatt will talk about the steps in clinical practice guideline development process and methods to maintain transparency of panel decisions.

Distinguished Prof. Gordon Guyatt
Distinguished Prof Guyatt is a physician and a research methodology expert from Hamilton, Canada. He coined the term Evidence-Based Medicine and is co-founder and co-chair of the GRADE working group. He is one among the worlds most cited scientist. Among many other prestigious awards and honours, in 2016 he was honoured as Member of the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame for being an effective champion in developing widely accepted methodologies that link research with clinical practice that best serves patients’ needs and values.
