better treatments

Better treatments

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) cause over 70% of all deaths worldwide each year. 85% of premature deaths due to NCDs are in low- and middle-income countries. The global injury epidemic kills five million people annually.

The George Institute is focused on finding better treatments for the world’s biggest health problems.

We are conducting large-scale epidemiological studies and clinical trials, often across multiple countries, and developing new medicine and technology solutions to prevent and treat common chronic and critical conditions with a global perspective.

Our work is transforming practice and improving health outcomes worldwide.

What are clinical trials?

Reducing the carbon impact of health research

What is best practice in clinical trials?

Our solutions

case studies

We are identifying the most effective, safe and affordable ways to prevent and treat chronic and critical conditions that cause the greatest loss of life and the greatest impairment of life quality with:

  • high-quality clinical research on treatments for a broad range of common chronic and critical conditions.
  • new, scalable medicines and technologies for preventing and treating common chronic and critical conditions in high- and low-income settings.
  • more efficient approaches to generating reliable evidence about treatments for common chronic and critical conditions.

Our strategy

Our mission is to improve the lives of millions of people through better treatments, better care, and healthier societies. Through a program of research, advocacy/thought leadership, and disruptive social entrepreneurship, we are driving global impact.
