The George Institute China contributes to the Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia
From June 10th to 12th 2019, The George Institute China was invited to participate in the inaugural Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia.
Founded in 2018 by the Boao Forum for Asia, the Global Health Forum is a broadly representative, comprehensive and authoritative platform which facilitates governmental, business and academic integration, high-quality dialogue and pragmatic cooperation within the healthcare sector.
The conference integrated the three themes of 'achieving universal health', 'health-promoting innovation' and 'integration of health into all policies', and built the first government-business dialogue and industry-university top-level dialogue platform within the field of mega-health, which will accelerate the promotion of mega-health policy implementation. It also jointly promotes the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and the earlier realization of the 'Healthy China' 2030 objective.
Dr Maoyi Tian, Senior Research Fellow at the George Institute China, attended the sub-forum 'Innovation for Health β The Future of Internet Healthcare' and gave a speech on 'Digital Health as a Tool to Strengthen China's Healthcare System'. He gave his interpretation of the results of the review of China's mobile health intervention system, and proposed four recommendation, namely 'enhancing the mobile health regulatory environment', 'reorganizing and consolidating the existing health care system in the process of mobile health development', 'reducing the health equity gap' and 'promoting evidence-based scientific research'. He then went on to share a series of 'Smart Health: Personalized Chronic Management Programs' launched by The George Institute for Global Health and executed in China, Australia, India and Indonesia etc.
Professor Craig Anderson, Executive Director of The George Institute China, said:
'The Boao Forum for Asia Global Health Forum is a grand occasion for global health. We are greatly honoured to be participating and collectively contribute to the development of global health and healthcare industries. '
