Dr Nicole Votruba is a senior research fellow at the University of Oxford, Nuffield Department of Women's & Reproductive Health, and honorary research fellow with the George Institute for Global Health UK, and PI of the SMARThealth Perinatal Mental Health project (PRAMH). She is also leading the process evaluation of the SMARThealth Pregnancy trial (PI Prof Jane Hirst).

She is a psychologist and political scientist, with a research focus on global mental health and equity, women’s health, stigma, implementation science, and science-policy inter-relationships. 

Nicole has longstanding research and work experience on the research-policy interface in the UK, the EU and internationally. She was policy officer for the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group on Global Health and has coordinated the global FundaMentalSDG initiative which successfully contributed to the inclusion of mental health in the UN Sustainable Development Goals. She has developed the EVITA 2.0 action framework to support and accelerate evidence-based policymaking for mental health in low- and middle-income countries.
