Economics of preventing high cost conditions in patients at high risk of chronic disease
This project seeks to characterise the predictors of inappropriate, high cost healthcare services and identify strategies to promote the use of appropriate, cost-effective care in a private health insurance setting in Australia. This project has been funded by the Hospital Contribution Fund of Australia (HCF) and utilises their membership data of approximately 1.5 million members over a 5-year period. The study was initiated in 2015 and findings are expected in 2017.
