Effect of a goal-focused exercise program on participation outcomes in frail older people
This study will establish whether tailored, goal-focused exercise program increases participation in frail, community-dwelling older persons. The findings will lead to improved function, reduced hospitalisation and reduced institutionalisation in the frail older population.
This is a substudy of The Frailty Intervention Trial is funded by a NHMRC Program Grant in health services titled Transition Care: Innovation and Evidence led by Professor Ian Cameron at the Rehabilitation Studies Unit.
Methods
This randomised controlled trial compares a goal focused exercise program to usual care and is conducted at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health Service.
