Gaps in primary health care research and implementation in low- and middle-income countries of the Asia-Pacific region

This project seeks to map and synthesize relevant evidence on the organisation and financing of primary health care (PHC) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) of the Asia-Pacific region.

We also explore the evidence and information needs of health system planners and managers responsible for the day to day running of PHC services, and assess the extent to which these converge with available evidence. This project forms part of a broader research consortium (convened by the Primary Health Care Performance Initiative, the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research, and Ariadne Labs, Harvard University) in which similar work is being conducted in other primary health care domains (including quality, safety, and performance management, and policies and governance) and geographic regions.
