Lifestyle InterVention IN Gestational Diabetes (LIVING)
This project aims to determine whether a resource- and culturally-appropriate lifestyle intervention program in South Asian countries, provided, after childbirth, to women with prior gestational diabetes, will reduce the incidence of worsening of glycaemic status, in a manner that is affordable, acceptable and scalable.
Methods:
Open-label parallel group pragmatic individual randomised controlled trial with blinded primary endpoint adjudication, preceded by an intervention development and optimisation phase
Study sites:
16 hospitals in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka; monitored by The George Institute; AIIMS, Delhi; CCDC, Delhi; icddr, b, Bangladesh; and RemediumOne, Sri Lanka
Current status:
Ethics approval obtained; formative phase completed; intervention components developed; staff recruited; participant recruitment initiated at all sites
