Quadpill Pilot Study - an ultra-low-dose quadruple combination therapy (‘quadpill’) in patients with hypertension
Aim: To assess whether a simplified treatment strategy with a hypertension polypill – ‘quadpill’ which includes four common blood pressure lowering medications each at ¼ strength dose encapsulated into a single pill, will be acceptable to patients, have a good tolerability profile and lower blood pressure.
Methods: The study is a double blind, randomised placebo-controlled cross over clinical trial of a polypill-based strategy in approximately 50 treatment naïve participants with hypertension.
This study is funded by a Vanguard Grant from the National Heart Foundation of Australia.
