David Armstrong

David Armstrong is a Non-Executive Director of the National Australia Bank (since August 2014). Chair of the Risk Committee and a member of its Audit Committee. David is also a Director of the Opera Australia Capital Fund Limited (since May 2013), and a Trustee of the Australian Museum (since January 2014) and Lizard Island Reef Research Foundation (since April 2014).

David has more than 30 years’ experience in professional services. As a Chartered Accountant and a former partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, he has significant knowledge and understanding of banking and capital markets, real estate and infrastructure and is well versed in reporting, regulatory and risk challenges faced by the industry. David has lived and worked in London and New York at various stages of his career. David is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. David joined the Board in October 2014, and is Chair of its Finance, Risk and Audit Committee.
