New study to change the face of Australian food

Global Food Monitoring Initiative

The Global Food Monitoring Group brings together countries to support them to monitor the nutrition composition of foods. The online database, which collaborators in each country can upload data on, using an agreed protocol for data collection, will enable the monitoring of processed foods around the world.

This will help to identify where reformulation strategies would likely have the greatest impact and support an international approach to food companies, as well as company/manufacturer-specific monitoring. A particular focus of the project will be supporting the participation of low and middle income countries.
