Role of public health law in preventing chronic disease

This PhD project seeks to develop empirical research tools to identify deficiencies in existing public health law (in terms of power, effectiveness and cost-effectiveness, acceptability and sustainability), and to inform the design of legislative reform. Current studies include the cost-effectiveness of child restraint laws and the effectiveness of Indigenous-led legal interventions to control alcohol in improving health and social outcomes.
