Musculoskeletal
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, The George Institute’s Musculoskeletal Health Program is committed to designing and testing innovative, accessible interventions to speed recovery and decrease the burden of musculoskeletal pain globally. Our vision is to promote health and quality of life for the millions of people who experience musculoskeletal pain by:
- Improving our understanding of the mechanisms and impact of musculoskeletal pain on the patient and the health care system.
- Developing and implementing new high-quality and impactful international trials of surgical and non-surgical care for musculoskeletal conditions.
- Designing and conducting innovative trials (e.g., adaptive design trials, registry-embedded trials) of surgical and non-surgical care for musculoskeletal conditions
- Promoting effective transfer of research outcomes.
- Developing greater capacity and capability in trials of surgical and non-surgical interventions for musculoskeletal conditions in Australia.
